Sharp on Every Edge

Hair strands, fur, wispy edges - the kind of detail that trips up most tools. Our AI handles it without needing you to touch a single slider.

Most images are processed in under 5 seconds. When you have a stack of photos to get through, that adds up fast.

Actually Free

Full-resolution downloads, no watermarks, no card required. Free means free - not a trial, not a limited tier.

Export Your Way

Grab your result as a transparent PNG, a white-background JPG, or WebP. Pick whatever format your project needs.

Your Images Stay Yours

We don't store what you upload. Images are processed and gone - we never see them, and neither does anyone else.

No Image Cap

Process one image or a hundred - there's no limit per session. Upload the next one as soon as the last is done.

Three Steps to a Clean Image

Seriously, that's it. No learning curve, no manual masking.

  1. Drop In Your Image

Drag it straight onto the tool, click to browse your files, or paste an image URL. JPG, PNG, and WebP all work.

  2. Let the AI Do the Work

The AI figures out what's subject and what's background, then cuts it cleanly. No selection tools, no lasso, no patience required.

  3. Download Full Resolution

Check the preview, then grab your result in full resolution - transparent PNG, no compression, no watermark. Free.

Frequently Asked Questions

The most common questions, answered. If something's not covered here, drop us a message.

01 Is BG Swaper really free?
Completely free - no catch. Upload, remove, download the full-res result, no account needed. No watermarks, no hidden charges anywhere.
02 What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and WebP are all supported, up to 10 MB. Download your result as a transparent PNG, a white-background JPG, or WebP - whichever you need.
03 How accurate is the AI?
Results are sharp on most subjects - people, products, animals, logos. Hair and fur are where single-mode tools fall apart; having multiple modes means you can switch in one click if the first result isn't right.
04 Are my images kept private?
Yes. Images are processed on encrypted servers and deleted as soon as your result is ready - we don't store them, look at them, or share them with anyone.
05 Can I remove backgrounds from multiple images?
There's no cap - process as many as you need in one session, one after another. Each result is ready to download in seconds.
06 Which AI mode should I start with?
Swift is the default for a reason - it handles most photos well. If the cut isn't quite right, try Depth for tricky hair and fine edges, or a Color mode when the background color is clearly distinct from your subject.
07 What is the Depth AI mode and when should I use it?
Depth is the sharpest option for detailed subjects. Hair, fur, fine textures, irregular edges - it uses deep neural segmentation and tends to outperform other modes when the edges are complex. Good default for portraits and animals.
08 What is the Swift AI mode best for?
Swift is where most people start - it's fast, handles a wide range of photos, and usually delivers a clean result. Product photos, general portraits, everyday shots. If you're not sure which mode to pick, start here.
09 When should I use the Prism AI mode?
Prism identifies the most visually prominent subject in the frame and separates it. Good for isolated objects and packaged products - anything where the main subject clearly dominates the composition.
10 What does the Depth AI mode do differently?
Depth reads the spatial layers in your photo rather than relying on color contrast. Useful when the subject and background are a similar color - like a person against a similarly-toned wall - where other modes might struggle.
11 What is the Edge CV mode and when does it work best?
Edge focuses on hard boundaries between subject and background. Works well on high-contrast images - logos, product shots on plain backdrops, anything where the transition is clean and well-defined.
12 What is the Mosaic CV mode?
Mosaic splits the image into regions and works out which ones belong to the subject. It handles more complex scenes well - the kind where the background has multiple distinct areas and a simpler mode would lump them together.
13 When is the Trace CV mode the right choice?
Trace works best on illustrations, icons, and flat designs with defined outlines. If you're cutting a graphic rather than a photo, Trace usually gives the cleanest result.
14 How does the Palette Color mode work?
Palette works from color clusters - it figures out which color regions belong to the background and removes them. Works best when subject and background are noticeably different colors, like a bold product shot against a plain white backdrop.
15 When should I use the Spectrum Color mode?
Spectrum looks at color variation across the whole image to separate subject from background. Try it on product shots with colored or gradient backdrops - places where the color shift itself marks the boundary.
16 What is the Terrain Color mode used for?
Terrain uses shape-based color analysis, which makes it a good option for smooth or graduated backgrounds. Worth trying if another mode leaves patchy or uneven edges along your subject.
17 What does the Outline Color mode do?
Outline combines color and shape cues to trace the subject's outer edge. Performs well on product packshots, simple portraits on plain backgrounds, and flat-lay shots where the silhouette is consistent.
